Environmentally Safe Laundry Detergent

Environmentally Safe Laundry Detergent

Turning to Environmentally Safe Laundry Detergent can feel difficult.

With your bad shopping habits of just getting detergents that work but also have a little bad effect on the environment. It is a bit difficult to change your shopping habits and go for eco detergents.

But you should as we all should now as it has such an impact for the environment and also for you and your families health.

You should know that we have been neglecting the environment for a long time and we really don’t get into the looking at our detergents properly (I’m guilty too). Now I look at the ingredients, the packaging and anything that can affect us or the environment.

Is laundry detergent bad for the environment?

Using normal detergents has a big impact on the environment as they contain toxic metals like arsenic and cadmium. these toxic metals do effect rivers, seas and oceans. They do not degrade and stay in these waters for a long time.

Also, we have certain phosphates that can cause eutrophication meaning that big algae growths lead to starving water plants and fish of oxygen. So yes laundry detergent is Bad for the environment.

Positives Of Switching To Environmentally Safe Laundry Detergent

Better For The Environment

The main reason for changing your detergent is it is so much earth friendly and that is the best reason you should change now. Just imagine how much phosphates and other toxic chemicals (these are starting to get banned in certain states and all states need to do it.) that have gone into your local drinking water and water sources.

Using natural cleaning detergents even though they don’t work as good as harmful detergents they are so much better for the environment. Also much kinder to wildlife and plants as bad detergents do cause bad problems like damaging fish, their eggs and destroying their gills.

Also, eco-friendly detergents now do come in recyclable packaging that can be recycled further and totally biodegradable and totally plastic free. So we are not polluting the planet with more plastics which is a great thing.

Healthier Option

Doing a dramatic switch to Environmentally Safe Laundry Detergent has a big impact on our bodies as well. For a start, the packaging and detergent fragrances do contain phthalates and often BPA which have a negative effect on your hormonal cycle.

A lot of people do suffer from skin irritation when using these bad detergents as they contain allergen chemicals. As well as chemicals that really do have an effect on our respiratory system.

There probably is more hidden chemicals in the detergents that we do not know about which may affect us in different ways.

So switching to natural detergents has a big impact on your health as well as the environment.

Gentler on fabrics

We understand that Environmentally Safe Laundry Detergent is not as good as the Bad Chemical Detergents and can make your clothes look like they haven’t been washed properly (it’s really the only negative about natural detergents)

but really bad fabric softeners do hurt materials to absorb moisture and wick sweat and natural detergents are defo easier on materials as they don’t mess about with their colour and no bleach are in them.

There is a bit of a problem with what type of clothing you actually buy as some synthetic fabrics are not good for the environment or your health but We will write a separate article about this sometime soon.

You Support Family-Run Business NOT Big Fat Cats.

A great thing about getting a habit into buying Environmentally Safe Laundry Detergent is the fact your supporting small businesses and not putting more money into big CEO and directors of big chains wallets. Which I like as I would rather support the small family run business.

What we thought of purify my laundry.

As we got recommended this product from a family friend (who is now an eco-warrior) We are testing products like this that are Environmentally Safe.

When we tried it, We found out that it was very weird to have no soap bubbles or fragrance which We knew was very different.

But after a good 10 uses we found out it does really work to clean our clothes but it did not shift a red wine stain (my bad, just don’t spill red wine on yourself)

And notice you don’t need any bleach or fabric softener after the spin cycle, clothes were washed and smelt fine and the most rewarding is that you know it’s great for the environment.

Get it here at the Official Site: for just under $16

We will be updating this page when we find new eco-friendly detergents. If you tried some, we would love to really know so comment below. Just remember changing the world starts with You.
